2024 Iowa Holstein & District 1 Shows - July 2nd, 8:30 a.m.

Allamakee County Fairgrounds, Waukon

June 30th - Bed down and cattle can begin at anytime
July 1st - Cattle must be in by NOON
July 2nd - Show starts at 8:30 AM starting with color breed heifers first
The show will start with color breed heifers first, then cows will start at 1:30pm starting in breed alphabetical order. Cattle may leave after show and all hay or straw MUST be pulled away from front of stalls before leaving.

The District 8 Show will be held in conjunction with the Delco Classic. Entries must be made through the Delaware County Fair www.delawarecofair.com. Show Chair: Jeff Hammerand 563-580-3908 or 24heavenlee@gmail.com

Show Entry Information:

• The State Open & State Junior Shows will be held in conjunction with the District 1 Shows. Entries should be made by completing the Excel entry form by July 26 available at and emailing it to shelliev@ymail.com. A copy of the registration form of every animal entered in the shows must be included with the entry form. There will be an entry fee of $20.00 per animal (includes both junior and open shows). Entry fees should be made payable to District 1 Holstein Association and mailed to Shellie Volker, 12686 U Ave, Sumner, IA 50674. A pdf of the entry form will also be available on the website if members do not have access to Excel.

• Other Details:

  • Straw is available to pre-order through Lynn Springmier at 319-415-5388. Beet pulp and wood chips are available at Unionland (563-518-0104) or Farmers Union Coop (563-380-6761). Camping is available on grounds call 563-518-0104. Hotels include Best Rest Inn, West Union & Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone, Fayette.
